I hope your week finds you strong and moving towards better health, productivity, and fitness!
1)Thought of Day:
Sometimes, things may not go your way, but the effort should be there every single night.
–Michael Jordan
2)Health News:
I routinely discuss with my patients the power of meditation, autosuggestion, and breathing techniques to improve health. Meditation is both cost effective (free) and clinically proven to improve multiple mind body issues.
I found this article from research conducted at Texas Tech University supporting the benefits of meditation for attention, working memory, creativity, immune function, emotional regulation, self-control, cognitive and school performance and healthy habits while reducing stress.
Many wish this came in a pill, alas it does not.
3)What I’m Reading:
Black List–Brad Thor
I can only absorb so much health and wellness material. I find a bit of fiction before bed time helps clear my mind of the day’s worries.
4)What I’m listening to:
Green River–Creedence Clearwater Revival
Because it’s CCR….enough said.
5)Health Nugget:
A patient asked recently, “What is the most common advice you give regarding health?”
A quick search revealed one article I routinely print and hand to patients leaving my office.
It primarily deals with nutrition as it relates to allergies and food sensitivities. I think the medical community vastly underestimates the role of food and disease.
Hope this article saves you an office visit!
