I recently participated in the Diabetes Summit where I gave practical insight from a busy practice in the heart of Diabetic country. I was grateful for the opportunity to share the stage with so many top doctors, nutritionists, and healers all passionate about Type 2 Diabetes. I appreciate the supportive feedback received from listeners after the my interview on my clinical experiences treating Type 2 Diabetes. (T2DM)
I wanted to make the message clear–Diabetes–in many cases–can be cured.
That sounds fantastic saying it out loud! However one only needs to read or listen to feedback from those who listened, changed lifestyle and discovered incredible, changes in their blood sugars, lipid profiles, and overall well-being–without more medications.
Since the Diabetes Summit, I have received numerous messages from folks struggling with diabetes.
I was most interested to hear the frustrations many face with T2DM.
For those who shared–Thank you
Key issues for many T2DM’s included:
- Frustration over the thought of a “Restricted diet.“
- Food cravings
- Un-supportive family or friends
- Doctors pressing medications and discouraging the idea of lifestyle modification
- Medication costs
- Medication side effects
- Pain of Monitoring diabetes
- Fear of diabetic complications
These are but a few I comments shared by readers and listeners. Over the last few weeks I sat with patients in clinic who wept when sharing their frustrations and fears related to this condition.
In the end I believe knowledge is power. There are many diets, medications, supplements, and special protocols to improve T2DM.
For my part, I plan to continue to address the frustrations and problems YOU have expressed. Life is too short to live in fear and frustration. I look forward to sharing my practical experience in helping my patients overcome one or all of these problems. (Here is a starter)
I am planning a series of posts addressing each of these common complaints about T2DM.
I hope you will stay tuned to the NRGTRIBE.com and share these important posts with your friends or family dealing with T2DM, pre-diabetes, or even those even at risk.
By educating and encouraging each other I believe we can break through the barriers to individually curing T2DM. With the right tools, motivations, measuring sticks, and support I believe we can reverse the massive growth of T2DM in our country.
I hope you will look forward to this Diabetic Momentum Series.
Please share your experience adapting and coping with T2DM. I hope by sharing our collective experiences others will find encouragement and motivation to write their own success story.
Indicate by posting here which topic you would like first, I’m going to cover all those “Key issues” listed above in the coming weeks.
