Welcome to the South Texas ODP Tryouts!

As a coach, physician, fitness, nutrition and lifestyle expert, I would like to invite you read a series of blogs that will help you and your player make the most of the ODP tryout process.

So many players dream of playing in the Olympic system and testing their skills against the best in the world.  That dream starts with identification at just this type of camp.

I would like to provide some material to help you and your player maximize their experience and most importantly play and develop to the best of their ability.

Most of the time we focus on the game, training, skills, and tactics.  However, acheiving the highest level of performance requires embracing attitudes and habits that maximize skill and ability.

In my coaching and clinical experience a huge portion of players overlook mindset and nutrition as keys to success.

I have collected a series of short blog posts to emphasize these points.  I hope you will read them and share them with your player.

Help them understand what top players, coaches and trainers know–hydration, nutrition and mental preparation often differentiate the good from the great.

Look back to this page frequently as new articles and videos will be added in the coming weeks.

Best Regards,

William G. Curtis, MD
